Zombie Outbrick: Episode 18

This is a surprise episode of Zombie Outbrick!

Ever since I missed two weeks of episodes, I've been behind. I've done double-episodes before, but this time I thought I'd just do Friday updates for two weeks, to space things out a little.

While I was shooting this episode, I found a handy little setting on my new camcorder that allows me to turn off wide-screen mode, allowing me to shoot pictures in a more comfortable frame (its dimensions are closer to that of my old camera, so it feels much more natural.)

I think that compared to the word-balloon nightmare of editing Episode 17, editing this one was fortunately much easier. I also think I'm getting more used to this camera.

So what do you think? Are Friday updates a good idea? Is the photography getting better? Does that last panel remind you of anything? ;)

Hey you cheated, but every one does that.

Cheated? How so?

Heh, there's actually a lot of ways that I "cheated," but I'm curious as to which particular way you mean!

Very sharp, you're discovery of the option for turning off wide-screen mode resolves a lot of issues with the crammed in balloons. though that could have just as easily been a result of last episode having so much that needed saying.

Awesome buildup the way with this episode for what's happened to the boss.

Is it me, or is it dark in there?

Thanks, Silver Fox!

Hah, yeah, having less dialogue always makes things so much easier to put together.

I'm glad you're liking the buildup! (Haha, "build"-up... haha, LEGO jokes... :D )

And we'll have to see if it really is dark in there or not...

The photography is much better :) It's good to see that your once grainy pictures have began to form into crystal clear visions of DOOM! :) I like the suspense and can't wait to see what happens next!

So are you going to be posting Mondays and Fridays now? If so, you'd probably get on the BCN dropdown menu faster that way ;P

edit: The only thing that bothers me a tad bit id the fact that your office has a lot of negative space. Maybe you could add some decor in photoshop maybe? Just a suggestion.

Hah, I guess when I started out my pictures were pretty grainy...

I'm glad you like the suspense, I certainly hope I can keep it up!

And I will be posting Mon/Fri, for this week and next week, at least. (Sent you a PM, by the way.)

And as for the negative space... what "decor" do you mean? The only sort of stuff I could easily add in photoshop is perhaps wallpaper, or posters or something. (Neither of which would seem terribly appropriate in this setting.)

My goal in making this office was to make it feel very depressing to be in. The lighting is a kind of bluish grey, the walls are a stark white with a grey floor, the furniture is black, almost everyone who works there wears black suits, etc.

So if the emptiness serves that purpose (of making the office seem colder, and more depressing and unpleasant), then that's what I'm going for! But if you don't think the emptiness has that effect, then I'll have some things to reconsider.

I'll have try to get rid of a little bit of that negative space in future comics, if I can simple find ways to do that.
