Zombie Outbrick: Episode 22

This marks the beginning of official Friday updates of Zombie Outbrick!

Before, I was only updating on Fridays for two weeks in order to catch up on the episodes I had missed while on a 2-week hiatus some time ago.

Now I have decided to continue this Monday-Friday update schedule. The "Update Schedule" page has been changed accordingly. (Although the quote generator/minifig speech bubble on the homepage will need to be re-coded, as it still thinks that new episodes are only on Mondays.)

Because I am updating twice as many times every week, you may notice that the pace of the story within the episode may slow down a little bit. Overall, the pace of the story within the week should stay the same, if not increase.

If my readers ever think that I'm stretching anything out for too long, let me know!

Also, this episode was a bit of a rush job, as I have been preoccupied a lot recently (including a trip to the dentist's yesterday.) The good news is that, while my buffer of actual comics is, as always, non-existent, I am amassing a considerable buffer in my script. With any luck, this script buffer should eventually translate into a comic buffer.

I hope this episode doesn't look as rushed as it is! ;)

Thanks Tyzan8, I'm glad you're enjoying the mysterious aspect of it! And a "cliffhanger" feel is what I was going for.

As for your questions...

1. The torso decal is a copy of the standard black police torso design, that I re-worked in blue.

2. The wounded man's face is actually from the new Alien Conquest sets. I think he appears in quite a few of them, although I got it in the "battlepack," or whatever, it's the guy on the far left with the briefcase (when you turn his head around, the "scared face" is on the back.)

"They... they..."?!
They what?! Did he get bitten? If he did, the officer did the good thing by "putting him out of his misery". But I don't know for sure if he did get bitten.

Hopefully that guy will be able to get his sentence out before it's too late!

And you'll have to wait and see if he got bitten or not... ;)

Don't slow down the pace of the comic. What you're putting in them each week is enough and enough to keep some of us still coming back every week and now twice a week. With 4-6 panels, yes there's only so much that can get put in, don't feel a need to slow it down even more. Keep with the pace you've got established.

"Also, this episode was a bit of a rush job..." "The good news is that, while my buffer of actual comics is, as always, non-existent, I am amassing a considerable buffer in my script."

That rush job does slightly translate into the script feel. A buffer is good, hopefully that same buffer won't cause you to feel you need to slow that pace down more unless you're running out of buffer.

And if that cop knows anything, he needs to spit it out soon!

Ah, I was wondering who it was at first!

Anyway, I'm not necessarily slowing everything down - but I'm less eager to cram things in, if you know what I mean.

Before, I'd try to squeeze a lot of dialogue into one panel, and it would cause a lot of problems. Now, since I'm updating twice a week, I figure I can get away with spacing things out a bit more (i.e. dividing one panel with a ton of dialogue, into two panels with moderate amounts of dialogue), since, while I won't get through things as fast, the next episode will always continue the story very soon anyway.

And since I am trying to build up a buffer, if I have the option of making 1 panel into 2 panels here and there, I probably will. But hopefully, that shouldn't slow things down too much! (I think readers should point it out if it does get to be too noticeable in the future.)

And if the cop needs to spit something out, then he's got a big loogie coming up in the next few episodes! (Metaphorically speaking, of course.)
