Zombie Outbrick: Episode 39

blockcomics
21st Oct 2011, 12:00 AM

Karen has been driven to the point of tears after all that has happened recently, as Chris and the Boss try to make sense of what they just witnessed. Officer Peterson continues to sit silently against the wall...

But perhaps standing around in the hallway isn't the safest idea...

I hope everyone can tell that that's a tear on Karen's cheek, in the first panel. She is supposed to be crying, at this point, and I couldn't really think of any other way to illustrate that. What do you think of it? Is it too "flat," or unrealistic in comparison to the muzzle-flash and blood effects so far?

Also, coordinating switching angles back and forth between Chris and the Boss proved to be quite an interesting task... The photography in general seemed to take longer than usual on this one, for some reason.

Anyway let me know what you think of this episode!

The tear works and is okay. It serves for a brick comic.

As for the group as a whole, perhaps if a shambling horde of zombies starts coming after them.

Haha, you're really intent on that "shambling horde," aren't you?

I'll see what I can do... ;)

To me it seems to be a staple. Especially if the zombies will try to find food and not just idle around waiting.

Well, who's to say that the zombies haven't already found food? ;)

Besides, as far as we know, there may only be a few zombies in this office building so far.

But don't worry, I do have a plan.

the tear is great although it could maybe be a bit smaller and more transparent

it seems that the boss doesn't want to believe in zombies but chris and karen are dead set (little zombie pun) on the idea that zombies have risen from the grave or been infected or whatever idea this is working on

Thanks Brickyman. And yeah, I was thinking the same thing when I released this episode. Although I had tried it smaller and more transparent, and I thought it would've been more difficult to recognize as being a tear...

And the Boss might be a little sutbborn about what he thinks is going on. And I don't know if Chris and Karen are "dead set" on believing in zombies, (although that was a great pun!) but they had both verified the man's death before witnessing him stand up once more.

In short, Chris and Karen both believe what they saw, while the Boss can't quite wrap his mind around it. Karen, however, couldn't quite take it.

I like the tear. It's cute, and I could definitely tell what it was.

It's nice to see emotions like that from LEGO figures. :D

Thanks Lee!

And haha, I suppose you don't really see many crying minifigs...

Uh oh, Karen's starting to lose it. But I don't blame her. I mean, if I see someone die, come back to life and get shot and die again, I wouldn't blame her for crying.

Yeah, and not only that, but she also saw the other zombie attack Officer Peterson and get shot, and before that, she had witnessed Mr. Ashford go on a shooting rampage. On top of that, she's probably also worried by the so-called riots that are going on...

So she's got a lot on her mind at the moment!

I found a way to get on your site without a computer crash! Huzzah! I just finished the archive up to here and I love how the characters are demonstrating their emotions. Great camera work, lighting and sets. Well done.

Huzzah indeed! I wish I had known it was such a problem, I must have too much JavaScript going on, or something...

And thank you very much!

Wow, I think the officer's motto is:
"Shoot first, think last."

As you'll find out later, the officer has his reasons. ;)
