Chris, Karen, the Boss, and Officer Peterson make their way back to the conference room, in front of which lies the corpse of the first zombie they encountered... but Karen is shocked by something she sees in the room, while Chris is still in the hallway...
This episode was incredibly difficult to shoot; transitioning between 2 scenes in this office building always is. Each time the scene is changed, I have to rearrange all my modular pieces from the current set into the next.
Since this is LEGO, you can usually tell if a wall or a table is even 1 stud out of place, which means I have to scrutinize pictures from previous episodes to set everything up accordingly, exactly as it was before. (Also, I have to have at least a frame or two of transition between the two sets.)
This time, however, I had almost 20 different "blood" pieces to deal with, as well as 3 wall segments, a copy machine, and the dead zombie himself from around Episode 16... So it took quite a while to get everything in front of the conference room set up again...
Also, I made Karen's tear in this episode a little smaller, as suggested. Does it look any better than the tear in the episode before last?
Yes, it does look better.
I wonder what Karen saw that made her say "Oh no...". The suspense is killing me! What did she saw?! Could it be another
ZOMBIE!!!(dun! dun! dun!)
Thanks ComicFox.
And you'll just have to wait and see what Karen saw... Although you could right... ;)
You've done very good for keeping the continuity of the sets in tact.
Karen, at first I thought she had a smudge on her face, but that's -my- bad for not realizing it's a tear.
But yeah, another zombie! The guy that was coming in originally to kill the boss has finally arisen! Nothing can stop him from killing his former boss! Not even death!
Thanks Silver Fox!
And that's just what I was afraid of! I've been struggling to make Karen's tears look recognizable, yet not overly exaggerated.
In Episode 39, it seems the tear was overly exaggerated... Yet in this episode, if you thought it was just a smudge, then it's my fault for not making it recognizable enough.
So you think Karen saw a reanimated Mr. Ashford? It's a possibility... ;)
One of the easiest ways of creating suspense is to get someone to open a door or look out of a window and say 'Oh my god...' then the strip ends
although it is easy it actually works quite well, I must find a away to put it in my comic ;)
as for my thoughts on what she saw, I'm guessing either a horde of zombies who were locked in the conferance room or a load of dead bodies, one zombie would never deserve this much suspense!
Hah, you're quite right! I suppose you could almost call it a cheap trick. I'm glad you think it works well, though.
And those are both good possibilities... ;)
Thank you! It was certainly tricky; I had to get it just right, and be very careful not to knock it off. (It fell about 3 times before I got a decent picture!)
